Help Me Name A New Family Member
Driving home the other night, I was stopping at a stop light when I saw a kitten on the white line that marks the outside edge of the road. He was sitting there looking mystified at my approaching headlights. I stopped the car, turned on the emergency signals, and got out to pick him up. His curiosity had propelled him toward the back of my car to see what those footstep noises were. As soon as he saw me rushing toward him, he turned to get away. Something stopped him (I think I had said something to him). He turned back and let me pick him up. He’s mine, I reckon. :)
Although my dachshund has been trying to torment him, this is one laid-back kitten. I believe he is around nine weeks of age. I think he was dropped off on purpose there in that lonely place — it’s a stop light out in the country with only a church nearby.
Would you give me name suggestions? Let me give you some of his personality traits and such so that you might think of a name for him:
- Found on the road, at night, at a stop light, in the country, near a church
- Gray tabby, white feet, long white tufts of hair in ears
- White eyeliner
- Very easy-going
- Loves to be held and petted
- Gets a lot of grief from dog brother, but will let him know when to quit
- Tells the bigger, more full-of-gusto dogs to back off right away
- Doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything
- Loves sleep, food, play
- I think Providence had a hand in our meeting
- Found by a Squidooer
Put your thinking caps on and help me with a name, would you? I am doing a lens about him at the ASPCA Headquarters at Squidoo and will note this “contest” in the lens along with the winning lensmaster’s page as a thank-you. In addition, I just think it will be a fun way to get him a great name! I sure would appreciate your input!
The winning name, and lensmaster who gave it to him, will be announced here in the comments section.
