Commentiquette

How to break the mood of a lens.

How to break the mood of a lens and brand yourself as a spammer.

Comments are gratifying to any lens author.

However, I am bothered by comments that end with a request to visit a particular lens.

I received a comment the other day that ended with an URL typed in. Just an URL — no mention of its being related to my lens or what it is about or why it’s there.

Any comment that includes an URL or a “now, please visit my lens” usually elicits the opposite response from me.

The bottom line for me is that a comment should be about the lens — not about directing people to your slice of the world. Your comment, your avatar, and the link supplied automatically with your avatar is the proper way to say “I’m here.”
